This course is our standard HG01 with an option for an additional 2 hr block for those wishing to get NH and Utah CC permits in addition to Maine. Students can take just the Basic Handgun class (8hrs/$165) or sign up to stay for the additional two hours to get everything they need to apply and get their Utah Non-resident Concealed Firearms Permit (10+ hrs total/$300 total). Weaponcraft's Basic Handgun Course is designed to develop a solid base of necessary fundamental skills that can be successfully employed in life-threatening defensive scenarios. Strong emphasis is placed on handgun safety, basic marksmanship, and "stress shooting" techniques. Topics include: grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger press, reload techniques, draw stroke and malfunction clearing techniques. This particular course meets the requirements for the Utah Non-resident Concealed Firearms Permit in addition to the NH and Maine Concealed Firearms Permits.Maine permits covered completely in HG01 Basic Handgun. Utah and NH Application Packets for permits are provided at the course. We fingerprint you, photograph you and notarize your application so you leave with a ready-to-mail application. MULTI HG01 is ideal for the private citizen who travels and may serve certain security professionals and military personnel. To find out what states are included in the Utah permit, click here. For those who have taken HG01 in the past 6 months, you can come for the additional 2hrs block only ($135) We also offer a 4 hour "Utah CFP Class" for folks who have not taken HG01 but would like to get their Utah permit. "Utah CFP Class" is a four hour, indoor only, no-live-fire class approved by the State of Utah for issuing permits. We refer to it as an update because at Weaponcraft we prefer to teach courses that include significant live-fire, but realize that this may not be realistic for everyone's schedule. This four hour block covers basic safety and handling, effects of stress, concealment, Utah concealed carry/firearms/use-of-force laws and includes fingerprinting and photographs.
You can download the Maine State Police booklet and Maine and NH applications below. Forms are submitted by Maine residents to your municipality if they have a Police Department or if the Town Selectmen have designated an official to issue permits on their behalf. Non-residents and those without local authorities submit applications to the State Police in both Maine and NH.
